The Nevada Mental Health Counselors Association is Nevada’s state chapter of AMHCA, created to support, connect, and advocate for mental health counselors across the state. As an AMHCA chapter, NVMHCA’s work aligns with AMHCA’s broader mission of advancing counseling through advocacy, education, ethical practice, collaboration, and professional development.

NVMHCA offers membership options for Nevada LCPCs, LMFTs, LCSWs, emerging professionals, students, retired clinicians, organizations, and aligned allied professionals who support Nevada’s mental health counseling community.

Limited-Time Recognition

Founding Member Status

Members who join or renew by December 31, 2026 receive Founding Member recognition as part of NVMHCA’s launch and growth. After this date, Founding Member status will no longer be available for new memberships or membership upgrades.

Associate Membership

For allied professionals and community partners who are not eligible for Clinical voting membership but share related professional goals, including physicians, nurses, APRNs, psychologists, case managers, attorneys, educators, administrators, and other aligned behavioral health or community professionals.

$60per year

Clinical Membership

For independently licensed Nevada clinicians holding an active, unrestricted Nevada license as an LCPC, LMFT, or LCSW. This membership level is limited to those three Nevada license types.

$75per year

Emerging Professional Membership

For Nevada clinicians who hold an active intern license as a CPC Intern, MFT Intern, or CSW Intern and are working toward independent licensure. This membership level is limited to those three Nevada intern license types.

Organizational Membership

A group practice, counseling agency, community mental health center, nonprofit organization, educational institution, or other organization whose primary function is the direct delivery, supervision, training, or administration of professional mental health counseling services. The organization must support the mission and purposes of NVMHCA.

Student Membership

For students currently enrolled in a graduate-level counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, psychology, or related behavioral health program.

Associate Membership [FOUNDING MEMBER]- Renews on Application Date - $60.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Automatic renewal (recurring payments) For allied behavioral health professionals, healthcare professionals, educators, and community partners who support NVMHCA’s mission (e.g. Nurse Practitioners, Attorneys, Doctors, etc).

Associate Membership is open to professionals whose work aligns with mental health care, behavioral health, education, supervision, advocacy, or community wellbeing, including APRN/PMHNPs, psychologists, psychiatrists, alcohol and drug counselors, school counselors, educators, behavioral health administrators, and other allied professionals.

Associate Members support the goals, ethics, and standards of NVMHCA and may participate in association updates, events, educational opportunities, networking, and professional collaboration. This membership level is intended for professionals who want to support Nevada’s counseling community while maintaining their primary professional identity in another related discipline.

Founding Member Status: Founding Member designation is a limited-time recognition available only to members who join or renew by December 31, 2026. After this date, Founding Member status will no longer be available for new memberships or membership upgrades.

Clinical Membership [FOUNDING MEMBER] - Renews on Application Date - $75.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Automatic renewal (recurring payments) For independently licensed mental health professionals who are committed to strengthening Nevada’s counseling community.

Professional Membership is open to individuals who hold an active, unrestricted Nevada license as an LCPC, LMFT, or LCSW. Professional Members support the mission, goals, ethics, and standards of NVMHCA and help advance the visibility, advocacy, and professional development of mental health counselors across the state.

Professional Members are eligible to participate in member benefits, receive association updates, attend member events, access professional resources, and contribute to NVMHCA’s advocacy and professional initiatives.

Emerging Professional Membership [FOUNDING MEMBER] - Renews on Application Date - $50.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st No automatically recurring payments For Nevada intern-licensed clinicians who are building their professional identity and preparing for independent practice (e.g. CPC Intern, MFT Intern, CSW Intern).

Emerging Professional Membership is open to individuals who hold an active Nevada intern license and are working toward full professional licensure. This membership level is designed to support early-career clinicians through connection, advocacy, continuing education opportunities, and access to a broader professional community.

Emerging Professional Members are encouraged to participate in NVMHCA events, engage with professional development resources, and contribute to the future of mental health counseling in Nevada.

Founding Member Status: Founding Member designation is a limited-time recognition available only to members who join or renew by December 31, 2026. After this date, Founding Member status will no longer be available for new memberships or membership upgrades.

Organizational Membership [FOUNDING MEMBER] - $250.00 (USD) Bundle (up to 1 members) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments For agencies, practices, schools, nonprofits, and organizations that support the mission and work of NVMHCA.

Organizational Membership is open to organizations that demonstrate support for the goals, ethics, and professional standards of the Nevada Mental Health Counselors Association. This membership level is designed for organizations that want to strengthen Nevada’s behavioral health workforce, support professional advocacy, and connect with mental health counselors across the state.

Organizational Members may receive public recognition as NVMHCA supporters and are eligible to submit up to two job listings per month for publication through NVMHCA channels, subject to review and approval.

Student Membership [FOUNDING MEMBER] - Renews on Application Date - $25.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Automatic renewal (recurring payments) Student Membership is open to individuals currently enrolled in a graduate-level program in counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, psychology, or a related behavioral health field. This membership level is designed to help students connect with Nevada’s professional counseling community, learn about the field, and begin building their professional network.

Student Members receive access to association updates, educational opportunities, networking events, and resources that support the transition from graduate training to professional practice.
